As ID Quantique enters a high growth phase, we are looking for a Hardware Engineer to join our R&D department based in Geneva. In this role, you will be working in an international environment where a high sense of product ownership is required and where your contribution to its evolution is key. You will be in charge to design, test and improve high technology system, with a particular focus on analog and high-speed circuits. You will succeed in your mission by developing complex hardware systems to drive accurately highly sensitive fast opto-electronic modules such as lasers, SPADs or interferometer. You will ensure their compliance to requirements, industrial-grade quality and fast integration in our products by closely collaborating with your team and various stakeholders.
Key Functions and Responsibilities:
- Develop complex hardware system, from prototype to an industrial product: A/D conversion, amplification, driver for opto-electronic components, signal conditioning, etc.
- Become the electronic analog expert in the R&D department and support other projects with analog challenges
- Be able to communicate effectively with other technical discipline and other stakeholders to optimize block specification and performance
- Creating schematic of complex design to interface opto-electronic devices
- Conducts complete engineering tests to bring-up and to validate the developed functions
- Follow and guide subcontractors to achieve project goals efficiently
- Rigorous approach focused on delivering high quality results using IDQ’s design process flow
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor or Master in Electronic or Opto-electronic Engineering or equivalent, with 5+ years of relevant experience
- Hands on experience in developing complex and high-performance hardware module including analog, high-speed and optimized power supplies blocks is highly desirable
- Experience in opto-electronics is a plus
- Experience with laboratory measuring instruments in analog electronics is a plus
- Familiar with Altium Designer
- Familiar with electronic circuit modeling or simulation (LTSpice)
- Good English spoken and written (C1 level)
- Ability to communicate and present to internal customers and peers
- Self-starter, organized, able to work independently, positive, and eager to learn and deliver
- Team-player with a strong interest in working in an Agile environment with a high level of interaction
